I was just a Statistics student from a humble background at the University – I wanted to become a Banker like most Nigerian children would dream of.
But… One moment changed my life forever.
I was a broke out-of-job graduate in 2019. I actually achieved my “Nigerian dream” of becoming a banker… But it wasn’t just it for me at all. I realized I wasn’t born to wear a suit & tie, battle traffic in the early hours of Monday morning in Lagos, just sit for hours sorting files, listen to angry customers yell at me, leave at 8 pm, and get home at 11 pm.
If you have ever been in my shoes, you would know how frustrating this is. Working 5 – 9 with chicken-fee pay (In Lagos you hardly do 9 – 5 LOL) wasn’t just what I wanted for myself. The stress. The pressure. The unrealistic deadlines. The job insecurity. Everything was frustrating!!!
